Barbara Ann Corcora
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran quit the firm shortly thereafter. Corcoran is among ABC's initial Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared on every 12 season of Shark Tank. As of February 2020 she had completed 53 deals. The largest of these was a $350,000 investment to Coverplay at 40 percent. Corcoran was the second child of 10 from a Catholic family with a low-income, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. became her father throughout Corcoran's childhood. At times, her family relied on the delivery of food for free from a local grocery store. Corcoran recalls that her father was an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with condescension and disrespect, especially after he had been drinking. Corcoran was a troubled pupil throughout her schooling. Corcoran later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. After flunking several courses during her first year of high school, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and was a D-student when she graduated.
